The internal transfers between Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka (DCSL) and subsidiary Melstacorp Ltd. continued for the third consecutive day with latest additions being JKH and Textured Jersey.
Around 3.367 million shares of JKH were transferred at Rs. 182.50 and 4.26 million shares (0.6% stake) of Textured Jersey were done at Rs. 7.70 each. The transfers amounted to Rs. 647 million.
As at 31 March 2012, Melstacorp held 27.84 million shares amounting to 3.3% stake (fifth largest) in JKH, as against zero a year earlier.
In Textured Jersey, Melstacorp holds 1.3% or 8.27 million shares and is the fifth largest shareholder. JKH closed at Rs. 189, down by one rupee with a total of 3.73 million shares traded. Textured closed unchanged at Rs. 8.
Two previous market days, transfers of stakes in 16% Spence stake (Rs. 7 billion), held by DCSL and those in Madulsima, Balangoda plantations and Browns Beach (Rs. 1.04 billion) were done with Melstacorp.
As in Tuesday’s mega deal, the broker to yesterday’s transfers was also IIFL Securities Ltd.
