  • Treasury Secretary to speak first time since the launch of 2015 Budget; key private sector insights too in the offing
For the first time since the 24 October presentation of the 2015 Budget in Parliament, Finance and Planning Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera will make his views known at a formal public forum tomorrow organised by the Daily FT and the University of Colombo MBA Alumni Association. Widely considered as the architect of the Budget, Dr. Jayasundera unfortunately skipped most of the regularly attended post-Budget fora due to being indisposed. The forum was previously scheduled for 28 October. As the Chief Guest, Dr. Jayasundera will share at tomorrow’s forum key considerations and significant proposals of the 2015 Budget which was presented by President and Finance Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa a fortnight ago. It was the President’s landmark 10th Budget. For registration contact Amila 0766160453 or email [email protected]. Senior officials from the Ministry of Finance will be present at the forum whilst a good mix of private sector leaders will also share key insights. The panel comprises Cargills Ceylon Plc Deputy Chairman Ranjit Page, DIMO Plc Chairman Ranjith Pandithage, PwC Director Tax Services Charmaine Tillekeratne, hSenid Software International Managing Director Dinesh Saparamadu, Colombo Stock Brokers Association President Dihan Dedigama, Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce Director Rohan L. Fernando and University of Colombo Senior Lecturer Dr. Priyanga Dunusinghe. This is the fifth consecutive year of the post-Budget forum organised by the Daily FT and Colombo University MBAA.
