Dr. W.M. Tilakaratna Memorial Oration, launch of scholarship fund

The Dr. W.M. Tilakaratna Memorial Oration and launch of the Memorial Scholarship Fund will be held on 7 April at 4 p.m. on the 6th Floor Auditorium of the MILODA - Academy of Financial Studies, Bristol Street, Colombo 1.

The memorial oration titled “The contemporary thrust of Sri Lanka’s development strategy” will be delivered by Treasury Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera. Dr. W.M. Tilakaratna was an eminent economist and was a model public servant who maintained the highest standards expected from a public servant. He made valuable contributions towards the economic transformation of the country both as Senior Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and as the Secretary to the Treasury. The Memorial Scholarship Fund that will be setup is a fitting tribute to a gentleman who brought prestige to the public service and cared for the wellbeing of the young.
