Emirates, a global connector of people and places, has provided an opportunity for readers of the Daily FT and Weekend FT to join in the celebration of the launch of services to Boston by participating in a fun themed quiz.
One of the oldest cities in the USA, Boston has many nicknames, and Emirates is challenging readers to guess these nicknames by offering a clue a day, each for a different name or description by which Boston is known.
Starting Tuesday, 25 March, the Daily FT and Weekend FT will publish one clue a day for 10 days, offering readers a chance to win a bag of exciting Emirates merchandise, including an Emirates classic bag, travel wallet, travel clock, solar powered charger, an Emirates aircraft model and other branded items.
Participants will have up to a week to send in their completed coupon and all correct entries received will be submitted into a prize draw for one of 10 goody bags containing these items.
“Emirates launched flights from Dubai to Boston, its 8th destination in the USA, on 10 March. Boston is an important destination for Sri Lankans because it is a hub for business and finance, and the Greater Boston area is home to more than 100 universities and colleges, some of which are popular among Sri Lankan students,” said Chandana de Silva, Emirates Area Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives. “We hope this novel quiz will interest Sri Lankans to learn a little more about the destination while having fun and winning exciting travel-themed gifts.”
Emirates operates 27 flights a week from Colombo to Dubai, offering convenient connections to Emirates flight EK237 that departs Dubai at 09:45hrs daily and arrives in Boston at 15:15hrs. The return flight, EK 238, takes off from Boston at 23:15hrs and lands in Dubai at 19:30hrs the next day.
Aboard the Emirates Boeing 777-200LR serving Boston, customers in all classes will be able to relish gourmet chef prepared food, while browsing through up to 1,600 channels of movies, TV, music and games on the ‘ice’ Digital Widescreen in-flight entertainment system. Highly trained, multi-lingual cabin crew are on hand to deliver the warmest hospitality in the skies.
