The tolls paid by consumers on the expressways are not enough, Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundera said, and are likely to be increased in the future.
The Rs. 400 (Colombo-Galle) and Rs. 300 (Colombo-Katunayake) collected is a concessional price, or a ‘promotional price,’ as he puts it, and will be increased soon. “The toll you pay is not enough; it will gradually go up, because we must recover the cost.”
