FCID questions former Minister and former CB Governor

The Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division has separately summoned ormer Minister Johnston Fernando and former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal yesterday to record statements.

The former Minister has been summoned to record a statement reportedly over granting a Mahapola Lottery to a Malaysian citizen.

Fernando was arrested by the FCID in May this year over alleged financial irregularities at the state-owned wholesale network Lanka Sathosa during his tenure as the Co-operatives and Internal Trade Minister.

Cabraal was summoned to record a statement regarding an irregularity in a tender process.
