The TNA has decided that Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran will make the final decision on the provincial ministers, following a meeting held yesterday.
The decision can be made over the next week with the provincial ministers scheduled to take oaths before the new Chief Minister on 11 October in Jaffna.
The TNA’s constituent party representation and district representation will be considered in making the final decision, TNA sources said.
“With an eye on all that, the Chief Minister will make the decision to pick someone who will fit the post,” the party sources said.
The last tussle is over the portfolio for the TNA constituent party the EPRLF led by Suresh Premachandran, the sources said. At least three ministerial portfolios have already been decided, the Daily FT learns.
