Fire breaks out at CEB substation in Kotugoda

A fire broke out at a CEB grid sub-station in Kotugoda, Ja Ela yesterday, the police media unit said.

The police said that the fire brigade was deployed to the location to douse the flames.

Despite one transformer failing at Kotugoda, alternative arrangements were made to provide uninterrupted power to the country, CEB Chairman Aura Wijayapala said. 

Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera inspected the affected CEB grid-substation yesterday.
