Dubai: BIZ COM, the Dubai-based marketing communications agency has announced that it will re-launch the first-ever Arabic language travel guidebook on Sri Lanka titled - ‘Sri Lanka: The Most Beautiful Island in the World’ for the benefit of potential tourists and the travel trade across the region.
The guide book on Sri Lanka in Arabic is in high demand and 20,000 copies have already been sold out, the company said adding that it will re-launch the book in response to the constant demand for more copies.
The guidebook, written by Emirati serial entrepreneur Heba Al Mansoori, Founder and CEO of marketing communications agency BIZ COM and broadcast and print media veteran, is the first of its kind written with the Middle Eastern traveller in mind. It presents the Arabic speaking tourist with a close-up look at what is a stunningly attractive destination.
Through the book, Al Mansoori presents a vivid image of the emerald Isle as a veritable tourist paradise, full of cultural and environmental gems, stunning locales, serene hillsides, captivating coastlines and beautiful beaches. All this in a style that is both understated but engagingly sincere.
BIZ COM said the entire proceeds from the sale of the book are being donated to a charity in Sri Lanka, founded in the aftermath of the December 2004 tsunami, to take care of children affected by the devastation through the establishment of a day care center in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka.
Speaking about the re-launch, Al Mansoori said: “Interest in Sri Lanka as an all-round travel destination in the Arab region is growing even as the island’s tourism industry picks up steam following a successful rebuilding effort. We have had constant inquiries at our offices, which is why I thought of re-launching the book.”
Al Mansoori was initially fascinated by tales of Serendib told to her by Sri Lankan members of her household staff. The fascination with the island took root following a visit with her entire family. “I love travelling and was totally enthralled by my first Sri Lankan experience. I have re-visited the country many times, discovering more fascinating aspects of the country on each visit.”
In this book, Al Mansoori underscores the attractions of the destination from the Arab perspective that took years to develop and frequent visits to the destination and she does so in an engaging manner that makes for quick reading with lots of essential information.
The book includes everything you need to know about Sri Lanka from planning your itinerary, bookings, which are the best hotels to stay, ground arrangements, halal food outlets, shopping, places to visit and even maids and nannies as well as facilities for specially challenged individuals.
Al Mansoori’s insights are particularly relevant and valuable for potential travellers and the book met with rave reviews from travel trade icons and journalists alike when it was first launched at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai in 2010.
Her fun, “tell-it-like-it-is” delivery style, and right on target understanding of what would appeal to the Arab traveller, turns the travel guide into a delightful reading experience that literally takes the reader to the destination so they have the knowledge and tips to explore the destination better.
