Foreign investor take on 2017 Budget at Daily FT forum tomorrow

How some of the largest, new and long standing foreign investors view the 2017 Budget will be under the spotlight tomorrow at the Daily FT and Colombo University MBA Alumni Association organised forum at the Hotel Galadari from 8.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.

The annual and popular post-Budget forum series this year is bringing a unique panel of listed multinational and majority foreign owned listed and unlisted conglomerates to share key insights.  Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake will be the Chief Guest. 

In Sri Lanka’s interest, as well as to attract much needed foreign direct investments, a key thrust of the unity Government, several top firms have come forward to serve in the expert panel and share their perspectives and insights at the Forum, organised in association with HSBC. 

It is the first time a panel of this calibre is coming under a single platform to speak for Sri Lanka and its future potential. 

The panel comprises of Shangri La International Hotel Management ltd Acting President Madhu Rao, CHEC Port City Colombo Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Liang Thowming, Chevron Lubricants Lanka Plc , Managing Director/CEO Dr. Kishu Gomes, Glaxo SmithKline Consumer Chairman Sunil Mehra, Ceylon Tobacco Company Plc Finance  Director Emma Ridley, Piramal Glass Ceylon Plc Managing Director/CEO Sanjay Tiwari, and Japan International Cooperation Agency Advisor for Board of Investment Hideo Horiguchi.  2017 Budget’s tax highlights will be shared by PwC Tax Services Director Charmaine Tillekeratne.
