Four Lankan economists in new global blog on development

Future Development: Economics to End Poverty, a new blog aimed at creating a rich and dynamic discussion on global development issues, was launched this week.
Led by Dr. Shanta Devarajan, Chief Economist for the Middle East and North Africa Region for the World Bank, the blog lists 63 respected economists and development practitioners from around the world who are expected to create a robust and insightful debate on the pressing development issues of today.
With top names like Pratap Bhanu Mehta at the Centre for Policy Research in India, Manu Bhaskaran of the Centennial Group in Singapore, Christopher Adam at Oxford University, Justin Yifu Lin at Peking University and Homi Kharas at the Brookings Institute, the discussion is guaranteed to be of very high quality resulting in practical insights that could be utilised by policy makers, academics, students and practitioners alike.
UNP Member of Parliament Harsha de Silva, Director IPS Saman Kelegama, Senior World Bank economist Harsha Aturupane and Director CPA Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu are the Sri Lankan economists on the initial list of contributors.
