Four special stamps have been issued to mark the National Vesak Week, depicting special events of the Buddha’s life before Enlightenment.
The stamps, in the denominations of Rs. 5, Rs. 10, Rs. 15 and Rs. 20, were launched at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne and Postal Services Minister Jeevan Kumaratunga. Senior Minister Athauda Seneviratna was also present.
