By Chamodi Gunawardana Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake on Wednesday claimed that the current Government has completed 78% of its proposed projects within 67 days. “We have proposed 100 projects to be done within 100 days and we have now completed 78% of the projects. We took 67 days to complete those projects and through them we are hoping to create new job opportunities for Sri Lankan youth. We have also provided more donations to Samurdhi receivers and prevent them from beggary,” Karunanayake said, addressing the launch of ujobs.lk. Commenting on the newly-launched website ujob.lk, he stated that it would provide a matchmaking system to find good job opportunities for young job seekers. “Unemployed Sri Lankan youth can submit their CVs via this web address. Sri Lankan companies can also advertise or publish their job opportunities through this site. The ujobs.lk website will do the matchmaking and act as a link between jobseekers and companies,” Karunanayake said. “We are planning to start a new banking system together with Sri Lankan banking leaders. We believe that banks must take more risks in giving loans to entrepreneurs, because we want to support the poor people of this country, not only the richest ones who are living in Colombo,” he added.
