ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) says that updating of web-sites by Government Institutions takes place at a very slow pace.
ICTA says that while updating of web-sites at least once a month takes place only in 40 per cent of Government institutions, Institution Heads and Chief Innovation Officers have a responsibility to ensure timely updating of their institution web-sites.
While more than 400 web-sites have been created for Government institutions, relevant Government officers have also been given training on web-site development.
ICTA says that every Government institution should have its web-site and that to have the web-site in Sinhala, Tamil and English is to comply with the e-Government policy.
ICTA points out further that a number of facilities become available to the public as well as the Government institutions if the Government web-sites are punctually updated.
