Govt. won’t allow any communal conflict: Dinesh

The law of the country has to prevail and no organisation can take the law into their hands under the pretext of protecting a religion, said Chief Government Whip Dinesh Gunawardena at a press conference held in Government Information Department yesterday.

When asked about the Government’s passivity in the entire issue, he said the Government was committed to upholding communal harmony.



 “We won’t let any sort of communal conflict occur in this country and we are doing everything possible to prevent such a thing. There are many working tirelessly behind the scenes regarding this matter,” Gunewardena added.
