Hayleys appoints UK-qualified Lankan professional to Board

Hayleys Plc on Friday announced the appointment of Sri Lankan born UK qualified professional Hisham Jamaldeen to its Board as a Non Executive Director. Having graduated from Warwick University UK in Engineering and Business Studies, Jamaldeen has spent the last 10 years working in the real estate industry. He specialises in real estate investments with a focus in transactional analysis, financing, refinancing debt structures and tax structuring. He is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants of UK as well. Jamaldeen currently serves as a Director of Steradian Capital Investments Ltd. and is responsible for financing, corporate structures, acquisitions and developments. Steradian Capital Investments is a privately-owned, multi-faceted consultancy and advisory business providing services and solutions to both foreign investment into Sri Lanka and existing companies exposed to Sri Lanka. His appointment follows Ranil Pathirana relinquishing his position as Independent Non Executive Director in the Hayleys Board with effect from 31 January 2013. Hayleys Board whilst welcoming Jamaldeen for a successful career placed on record its appreciation of Ranil’s contribution to the company since he was appointed in June 2011. Following the change the Board of Directors Hayleys Plc comprises of Mohan Pandithage (Chairman and Chief Executive), K.D.D. Perera (Deputy Chairman), M.R. Zaheed, W.DN.H. Perera, S.C. Ganegoda, H.S.R. Kariyawasan, H. Cabral, K.I.M. Ranasoma, L.T. Samarawickrama, M.D.S. Goonatilleke, L.R.V. Waidyaratne, M.H. Jamaldeen and D.S.N. Weerasooriya (alternate to K.D.D. Perera)
