HSBC’s Group GM and Head of International Asia Pacific in town

Guy Harvey-Samuel, Group General Manager and Head of International, HSBC Asia Pacific will arrive in the country on Wednesday, 6 July 2011, on an official visit.

During his timely visit, Harvey-Samuel will declare open HSBC’s latest branch in Galle, located at No. 120/2, Matara Road, Pettigalawatte, Galle.  His visit will also cover a special staff town hall presentation and meetings with senior management and key customers.

Harvey-Samuel joined HSBC in 1978 and was appointed to the post of International Officer in 1979.  Having worked across twelve different countries, he has held many senior management roles in Australia, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Hong Kong.

He has also spent a considerable part of his career performing roles in Global Markets, Consumer Banking and Corporate and Commercial Banking.

Harvey-Samuel arrived in Hong Kong in 2010.  He was Group General Manager and Chief Executive Officer for HSBC Singapore prior to taking on his current role as Group General Manager and Head of International, Asia Pacific.   



As a member of the regional Executive Committee, he is directly responsible for 11 markets within the Asia-Pacific region. He is the Chairman of HSBC Bank (Mauritius) Limited, a Director of HSBC Bank (Taiwan) Limited and a Director of HSBC Global Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited.
