Hyundai, LG to explore setting up manufacturing units in Sri Lanka

Several Korean giants including Hyundai and LG are keen to explore prospects for setting up manufacturing units in Sri Lanka, the Asian country’s envoy in Colombo has revealed.

“Hyundai is looking mainly at shipbuilding and repairs while other Korean firms including LG are looking at electronics. To this end, these companies are planning to send a fact finding trade delegation to Sri Lanka in the due course” Korea’s Ambassador Jongmoon Choi told Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen during a meeting between the two in Colombo.
