The President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Olivia Kirtley, who delivered the keynote address at the inauguration of the CMA summit told Daily FT that accountants are uniquely qualified to help sustain good governance. And helping governments is good for the accounting profession, she added.

“Good governance is enabling accountants to do a better job. I’ve served on corporate boards and good governance really makes a difference in an organisation and helps with transparency and accountability. It’s very beneficial for all parties in the financial reporting process,” she added.
