Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has made snubbing largest oil trader Vitol in its tenders a habit now sans plausible reasons.
Quotation submitted by Vitol for this week’s tender for the import of gas oil among others despite being over Rs. 50 million cheaper hadn’t been read whilst bids by at least four others had been considered.
This is the third tender in which CPC has ignored Vitol, apparently due to the fiasco over alleged supply of contaminated fuel previously. Vitol however has denied allegations, which CPC hasn’t yet substantiated despite near a month has lapsed.
