Sri Lanka has successfully completed the Stand-by Arrangement (SBA) in April 2012 and currently does not have a program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) the global lender said.
Gerry Rice, Director, IMF Communications Department at the press briefing on Thursday said Sri Lanka has no further side agreements with the Fund.
He was responding to a question raised regarding a statement made by the Vice Chairman of Sri Lanka’s main opposition United National Party (UNP), parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella asking the Sri Lankan Government to reveal the subsidiary agreements entered into with the IMF.
Kiriella urged the Government to reveal the several subsidiary agreements it had entered into with the IMF, which impinged on the budgetary allocations for essential services.
The IMF official said the terms and conditions of the SBA, Government’s Letter-of-Intent, staff reports and all other documents are published on the IMF website.
