India’s IRCON gets Pallai to KKS $ 150 m rail deal

The Cabinet has approved the awarding of the contract to build the railway line from Pallai to Kankesanthurai (KKS) to Indian Railway Construction International Ltd (IRCON), at a cost of US$ 150 million.

The same company was previously awarded the Omanthai to Pallai rail line construction.



lRCON is a fully government owned company of India and the construction of the railway line from Pallai to KKS is with the assistance of the EXIM Bank of India.

        

Construction work on the Northern Railway Line from Vavuniya to Omanthai has already been completed and trains are being operated up to Omanthai at present.
