Reuters: The annual inflation rate eased to a 23-month low of 4.4% in January from 4.7% in December, the Department of Census and Statistics said on Friday.
Annual average inflation, measured on a 12-month moving basis, fell to a 16-month low of 6.5% in January from 6.9% a month earlier. In May last year it had hit a record high of 8.8%.
