Reuters: Sri Lanka’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 6.7% in October from 6.2% in September, the Department of Census and Statistics said on Thursday.
Annual average inflation, measured on a 12-month moving basis, edged down to 10-month low of 7.6% in October from 7.8% a month ago. In May, it hit a record high of 8.8%.
Core annual inflation, which excludes fresh food, energy, transport, rice and coconuts, eased to a record low of 2.6% compared with 3.0% a month ago, according to the new consumer price index introduced in mid-2011.
