Ishara takes over as Executive Chairman at Browns

Ishara Nanayakkara has been appointed the Executive Chairman of the Brown and Company Plc with effect from Friday.

The move follows veteran former banker Rohini Nanayakkara relinquishing her services as Chairperson/Non-Executive Director from 28 February.  Ishara has also been appointed Chairman of Browns Investments Plc following Rohini’s exit. However she continues to be the Chairperson of LOLC.

Ishara was recently appointed as the Deputy Chairman of Seylan Bank as well.

Following the latest change, the Board of Directors of Brown and Company comprises Ishara Nanayakkara (Executive Chairman), Ajith Devasurendra (Non Executive Deputy Chairman), Murali Prakash (Group MD/CEO), Shankar Somasunderam, Janaka De Silva, Kapila Jayawardena and K.U. Amarasinghe.
