IT Survey results out this month

The EDB is awaiting a value survey results conducted in the IT/ BPO industry to be completed and published by the end of the month.

The Survey, done for 2010 will look at the revenue earned in the industry and how the earnings have settled in various areas of the said industries. The survey is being conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers Lanka (PwC). EDB Chairman Janaka Rathnayake said, “IT income is not being registered in any institution or Board. It is neither recorded at the Customs nor at the CBSL. So it is important to find a way to capture this as nobody knows what’s happening exactly.”

The survey is targeted to be published by the end of July.
