Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs in town

State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Minoru Kiuchi will arrive in Sri Lanka today (7) to further strengthen the longstanding ties between Japan and Sri Lanka.
During his visit, Kiuchi will call on President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is also the Minister of Policy Planning, Economic Affairs, Child, Youth and Cultural Affairs, as well as Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera, to further develop cordial relations with the leaders of the new Government established after the presidential election on 8 January and to explore future avenues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
State Minister Kiuchi had previously visited Sri Lanka in his capacity as Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs in September 2013.
