A dairy project designed and supported by the TEAR fund and New Zealand Government has helped revitalise the dairy industry Sri Lanka.
The Wanni Dairy Regeneration program was started during the civil war in Sri Lanka and has brought together Sinhalese and Tamil small-hold dairy farmers, raising their incomes and revitalising the industry.
Program Director Selina Prem Kumar will be touring New Zealand in April talking about its success. She says the project has raised the income for farmers involved by 600%.
