Mahathir in town to open development projects, address Hambantota Conclave

Former Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today for the inauguration of two development projects as well as address the Hambantota Conclave.
He will launch the Residential Development Project in the proposed new city of Hambantota and the Mixed Development Project in the Katunayake Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) on Wednesday, 10 December.
Hambantota District Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, The Maju Group of Companies of Malaysia Group Executive Chairman Tan Sri Abu Sahid Mohamed and Quest Ventures Director Dato Patrick Lim will also be present at the Hambantota event.
Minister of Investment Promotion Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka Chairman Dr. Lakshman Jayaweera and The Maju Group of Companies of Malaysia Group Executive Chairman Tan Sri Abu Sahid Mohamed are expected to take part in Wednesday’s project launch at Katunayake.
This evening Dr. Mahathir Mohamad will deliver the keynote address at the Hambantota Conclave 2014, a unique forum where investors will discover Asia’s new city of opportunity. The Conclave will be held at the BMICH Sirimavo Bandaranaike Hall A and B.
Introducing Dr. Mahathir Mohamed will be MP Namal Rajapaksa.
