Jayasuriya was lured into politics in 2010 by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and maintained close links to the former First Family.
He served as a UPFA MP and Deputy Minister from 2010-2015.
The former cricketer will formally endorse Ratnayake at the UNP candidate’s campaign office in Pamburaana, Matara at 4:30 p.m. today. (DB)
