Milk rice served outside CJ’s home supporting her ouster

Pro-Government protestors and Government politicians boiled milk rice and prepared a table of sweetmeats outside the official residence of Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake on Bauddhaloka Mawatha last night.

The anti-CJ demonstrators were stationed in front of Bandaranayake’s home in anticipation of Parliament passing the resolution of impeachment against her.  Senior lawyers said that the Chief Justice and her family were inside the residence that was surrounded by demonstrators, who blocked most of the road. Eyewitnesses reported that there had been no Riot Police present to control the crowds.
