Minor’s new brand Avani to debut with Sri Lankan resort

Minor Hotel Group is launching a new brand, Avani Hotels & Resorts, which will debut with a beachfront resort in Sri Lanka.

The Avani Bentota Resort & Spa is scheduled to be fully completed by late 2011 and is located along Sri Lanka’s golden southern shores.

To offer a choice of destinations, Avani will also launch a second Sri Lankan resort in 2012. The Avani Kalutara Resort is situated at the tip of the Kalu Ganga river mouth in Kalutara and will feature 105 rooms.

Following the brand’s initial two openings, which will cement Minor’s presence in Sri Lanka, Avani will then capitalise on Minor’s experience further afield by opening additional properties in Asia, Australia, the Indian Ocean, Middle East and Africa.
