MS, RW to meet civil society today over CB Chief

President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe are to meet civil society representatives today to discuss the future of Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran.

The term of Governor Mahendran ends on 30 June and his reappointment has been widely criticised due to alleged conflicts of interest on account of his son in law who is linked to a primary dealership which deals in Government securities.
