National carrier launches special fares to Mattala

SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka, has introduced new offers to Mattala, providing a great opportunity to all Sri Lankans to enjoy a domestic flying experience to the newly-built Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA).



The offer starts at Rs. 4,999 for an economy class return air ticket, while the amount is only Rs. 2,999 for one way trip. The business class fares will be Rs. 16,200 and Rs. 9,500 for a return and one-way ticket respectively. This special offer is only valid till 31 May 2013.

For the first time, travellers will be able to enjoy the comforts and services of an international flight while flying to a domestic destination. SriLankan Airlines also offers convenient check-in options and on-board and ground handling services similar to those offered to travellers who leave for foreign destinations.

Located within an easy distance to many aquatic and wildlife attractions, MRIA will provide the travellers quick access to Yala, Kumana and Udawalawe sanctuaries and the emerging whale watching hotspot in Mirissa.

In view of the upcoming Sinhala and Hindu New Year, SriLankan Airlines will also introduce special fares for those who fly to Colombo, Bangkok, Beijing, Male and Riyadh from MRIA.

During the initial stage, SriLankan Airlines will be operating flights   to Shanghai, Riyadh, Male, and Beijing from MRIA, with the frequencies and destinations are to be increased within the year.
