NDB issues fresh clarification

With reference to the Daily FT news item yesterday titled ‘NDB staff protest in support of CFO’, NDB issued the following statement. 

We wish to draw your attention to the fact that the news item largely refers to the proceedings of a domestic inquiry, which you will appreciate is kept confidential in the interests of all parties concerned.

The news item is clearly one-sided, based on the confidential proceedings and which could only have originated from the party that is subject to the inquiry. 

We are deeply concerned that your news item is one-sided and therefore conveys a message which is factually incorrect.

We wish to assure you that the Bank has transparent and clear policies relating to staff management. These policies will be strictly complied with. Moreover, the Bank will make an unbiased and factual disclosure relating to the matter once the inquiry is complete. 

In the meantime, the Bank requests you to act fairly and desist from publishing news items which could be unfairly prejudicial to the Bank and its stakeholders.
