Netherland’s ex-Finance Minister de Jager to talk at Miloda tomorrow

Former Finance Minister and Secretary of State for Finance of Netherlands Jan Kees de Jager will speak at at Miloda, Academy of Financial Studies, the training Institute of the Ministry of Finance and Planning on Wednesday, 13th August 2014 at 4 pm. He will share his thoughts on ‘A world in turmoil: from subprime crisis and sovereign debt crisis to a new world order driven by global trends that are propelled by technology, civil empowerment and demographic shift.’ This is the 6th Eminent Speaker Lecture since the setting up of Miloda in mid-2013. The Eminent Speaker Series has availed the rare opportunity for both the private sector and private sector thinkers and decision makers to listen to viewpoints and analysis of persons of global repute. Jan Kees de Jager became the Minister of Finance following the formation of the Cabinet Rutte I, after the Dutch General Election of 2010. He thereafter served as a Member of the House of Representatives until November 2012. He was the State Secretary for Finance from February 2007 to February 2010. Currently Jan Kees de Jager is engaged in active business in the field of finance and accounting, investment policy, pensions, ICT software, internet technology, business solutions, e-commerce and e-learning. He was appointed CFO of Royal KPN (Dutch Telecom) effective August 18, 2014. De Jager studied at the Nyenrode Business University- Breukelen, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1990. Subsequently, he studied at the Erasmus University - Rotterdam and obtained two Master Graduations in Economics in 1994. He also obtained a Master of Laws Degree from the same university in 1996. Demonstrating the diversity of the contributions he has made, De Jager was awarded the prestigious – Officer in the Order of Chivalry of Orange of Nassau (Civil Knighthood order) Influencer of the Year Award 2011. He was also awarded the ICT Personality Award 2007.
