New Channel 4 documentary on Lanka screens in India

The latest Channel 4 Documentary on alleged Sri Lankan war crimes entitled ‘No Fire Zone’ screened in New Delhi yesterday.

The 20 minute film is a follow up to the first controversial Channel 4 film ‘Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields’ and is being unveiled three days ahead of the opening of the 22nd Session of the UN Human Rights Council, where Sri Lanka’s human rights record will be under heavy scrutiny for nearly a month.



The film was expected to reveal certain new and controversial footage that was made public earlier this week, featuring LTTE Leader Vellupillai Prabhakaran’s youngest son.

It was screened at New Delhi’s Constitution Club and was followed by a panel discussion with Amnesty India Chief Executive G. Ananthapadmanabhan, ‘No Fire Zone’ Director Callum Macrae, IANS New Delhi Chief News Editor M.R. Narayan Swamy, and Jawaharlal Nehru University School of International Studies Professor of South Asian Studies P. Sahadevan.

The film screening was facilitated by Amnesty India.
