The new Secretary of Ministry of Economic Development Dr. Y.D. Nihal Jayathilaka, appointed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, assumed duties yesterday at the Ministry office.
Dr. Jayathilaka held the posts of Secretary to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils prior to this appointment.
Botanical Garden and Public Recreation Ministry Secretary Dr. Willie Gamage, Economic Development Ministry Additional Secretaries Hema Dharmawardhana, Shantha Bandara and Priyantha Mayadunne and other senior Ministry officials were among those who attended the event.
