Central Bank Governor Nivard Cabraal will this week meet existing and prospective sovereign paper investors in Japan as well as representatives of ratings agencies on the sidelines of IMF-World Bank annual meetings in Tokyo.
Cabraal said Japan was an emerging market for investments in Government bonds and bills and he will be using the visit to IMF-World Bank annual meetings to hold discussions with existing and prospective investors. He is also scheduled to meet with representatives of ratings agencies.
The Governor said in recent months there have been large investments from Japan in to Government debt and there was potential to lure more. “We have to look at enhancing the diversity of the investor base and meetings in Tokyo will be useful,” Cabraal told the Daily FT.
