In response to the Daily FT article titled ‘Harsha’s talk at Ceylon Chamber Forum politically axed?’ the organisers Sri Lanka-Italy Business Council President Daya Ratnayake issued the following clarification:
The Sri Lanka-Italy Business Council would like to announce that the Breakfast meeting on “Post War Dividends,” with Dr. Harsha De Silva, UNP MP, which was scheduled to be held this morning (24th April) at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, was postponed due to the non registration of adequate participants.
This fact was duly notified to Dr. Harsha De Silva by the Sri Lanka – Italy Business Council.
We also would like to emphasize that there was no pressure at all, from any quarter to cancel the above event.
Sri Lanka – Italy Business Council will reschedule the event to a future date, based on the availability of Dr. De Silva.
