Painless pensions

‘e-PENSIONS’ a project benefiting all qualified Government servants countrywide was officially launched yesterday.

The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) and the Pensions Department  jointly put in place the ‘e-Pensions’ project and said the move fulfilled yet another pledge made in the ‘Mahinda Chinthana - Vision for the Future’.

The ‘e-Pensions’ Project aims at delivering pension/gratuity on the very day the pensioner reaches the date of retirement and handing over to him/her the pension within the first month following retirement.

The launch of this project was held under the patronage of Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W. D. J. Seneviratne. See related picture on Page 18
