Pak, Lanka agree to boost cooperation in counter terrorism, maritime security

The visiting Pakistani Naval Chief Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila, NI (M) visited Sri Lankan Naval Headquarters yesterday. Admiral Sandila was received by Commander Sri Lankan Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage upon his arrival at Sri Lankan Navy Headquarters in Colombo. Admiral Sandila was accorded a guard of honour by a smartly turned out Sri Lanka Navy contingent. He later held detailed discussion on bilateral cooperation with his Sri Lankan counterpart. Admiral Sandila also met senior officers of Sri Lanka Navy. The discussion was focused on ways and means to enhance navy to navy relationship especially in the domain of counter terrorism and maritime security. The Chief of Naval Staff Pakistan was assisted by his delegation members and Colonel Sheharyar Parvez Butt, Defence Advisor Pakistan. The two sides exchanged mementos at the conclusion of meeting.
