Islamabad: After the successful response of the Single Country Exhibition in Colombo,Sri Lanka in January this year, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is organising another Single Country Exhibition in Colombo scheduled for January 2017.

The event will be organised at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo from 13-15 January 2017, the TDAP said in a press release.
According to the Authority, this year’s exhibition in Sri Lanka was a huge success as all companies had received tremendous response from Sri Lankan buyers and visitors.
One of the primary aims to organise the Pakistan Single Country Exhibition was to introduce the diverse goods and commodities being produced in Pakistan to the Sri Lankan consumers. The exhibition provides an opportunity to explore the Pakistani market in Sri Lanka.
Many companies have received orders from Sri Lankan buyers and the Furniture, Engineering and Pharmaceutical sectors are still negotiating hopefully successful deals, the release said.
Pakistan’s General Fan Company (GFC) has already sent its first consignment to Sri Lanka after successful deals which were materialised as a result of the exhibition. Pharmaceutical companies have also started the process of registration with Sri Lankan authorities as TDAP had introduced their quality products during the exhibition.
The Single Country Exhibition for 2017 is being organised under the patronage and support of Government of Sri Lanka. It is expected that large number of people will visit the event.
Major components of the Single Country Exhibition will be exhibition display and Business to Business meetings.
Renowned companies from Textile, Agriculture, Engineering, Marble & Granite, Handicrafts, Garments & Accessories, and from the Jewelry sector will participate in the event.
According to the TDAP, the exhibition will be a true showcase of quality brands from Pakistan with the collective presence of top Pakistani brands at the event.
The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is operational from 12 June 2005. Under the Free Trade Agreement, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have agreed to offer preferential market access to each other’s exports by way of granting tariff concessions.
