Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has assured that the government will continue to provide the fertilizer subsidy to the farmers as promised.
The Prime Minister gave this assurance in parliament when parliamentarian Ranjith De Soyza raised a question about the government’s stance about the Rs. 350 worth fertilizer subsidy,
Parliamentarian Ranjith de Soyza stressed that a combined opposition will vote against the budget if the fertilizer subsidy is not granted to the farmer community.
Parliamentarian Mujibur Rahman, meanwhile, said Rs. thousand million rupees has been allocated for the distribution of seed paddy relief assistance. He further said this will help to promote different seed varieties among farmers.
