President Mahinda Rajapaksa today condemned the bomb attack in Boston that claimed three lives and injured over 140 people on Monday.

In a message to U.S. President Barrack Obama, President Rajapaksa conveyed his condolences over the loss of life and injuries and called the attack an “act of cowardice.”

President Rajapaksa, as the leader of the only country to eliminate terrorism, drawing parallels to the Tamil Tiger suicide attack on Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle at the start of a marathon in April 2008, said Sri Lanka very well understands the pains of terrorism.

He called on all the countries to get together to eliminate the scourge of terrorism.
