President was on ‘observation visit’ to CBSL: PMD

President Maithripala Sirisena made a special observation visit to the Central Bank yesterday, the Presidential Media Division said in a media release.

He exchanged ideas on the current economic situation and the future economic plans, with the staff of the Central Bank, the statement said.

During his discussions, the President said that his objective is to take free ideas from the economic specialists, scholars and all parties in making of future economic plans of the country, the PMD said.

“He pointed out that the government needs the active contribution of all parties in the process of building a prosperous country with a strong economy,” the statement added.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Secretary to the Finance Ministry R. H. S. Samarathunga and Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran were also present at this occasion.
