Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will visit Japan next week to hold talks with his Japanese counterpart, Japanese media reported.
Arrangements are being made for Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to hold talks with French, Turkish and Sri Lankan leaders in Japan over three days in early October, Japan Times reported quoting a Government source.
Prime Minister Abe is scheduled to hold talks with Wickremesinghe on 6 October.
It will be Wickremesinghe’s first visit to Japan since he came to office in January this year.
Japan has been a key partner in Sri Lanka’s socio-economic development and Wickremesinghe’s visit will be an important milestone in further enhancing bilateral relations, a Government official said.
