Private Sector requested to declare 7 May a holiday

The Government has already declared Monday, 7 May a Public and Special Bank Holiday, in lieu of the Vesak holidays falling on Saturday, 5 May and Sunday, 6 May.  

Accordingly Labour and Labour Relations Minister Gamini Lokuge has made a request to all corporations, statutory boards and private sector to declare Monday 7 May as a holiday.
