Veteran businessman, industrialist and chamber leader Nawaz Rajabdeen has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Industrial Development Board of Sri Lanka (IDB) by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
IDB is a key organisation under the Ministry of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development.
Rajabdeen will add weight to pro-business and pro-industry type of policies and strategies to be executed in overall industrial development efforts in Sri Lanka
He is the National Director for United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) – national focal point in Sri Lanka and is a Board Director of Export Development Board.
Rajabdeen is also former President of FCCISL, Sri Lanka, Vice President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce, Director Insurance Board of Sri Lanka, Director Sri Lanka Standards Institute and Chairman Hotel Developers PLC, the owning company of Colombo Hilton.
