Prime Minister and Leader of the UNP Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday expressed confidence of his party securing victory at the forthcoming general election after the New Year.
Addressing a progress review meeting of UNP members in Thotalanga, the Prime Minister stated that he was ready to work cordially with the SLFP.
Speaking further, the Prime Minister stated that after the general election a National Government would be established.
The Prime Minister also replied to certain allegations made by the Opposition stating the some of the construction activities of projects initiated by the previous Government had been halted.
He stated that the previous Government have initiated development projects without paying the relevant companies.
